Together (Prima & More Than Words)

Hi there,

I'm here today to share with you a layout I made for Prima's new challenge called Make it Prima and for the More Than Words challenge for February.

I used papers from the Rossibelle collection. I fussy cut some of the flowers and leaves from a paper to spread amongst my flower cluster. The ampersand is the requirement from the More Than Words challenge for this month. It's made of plastic and I painted it to match my layout.

My chipboards are from 2Crafty chipboard. I used the title Together which I painted with bronze metallic paint. I did the same with the 5'' Floral Frame that frames my picture.

Flower are all Prima, from different collections.

The Corner Whispy Vines piece underneath my cluster to the bottom left is also from 2Crafty and is painted with the same bronze paint.

I also used a stencil from Prima with modeling paste on my background. The stamp is also from Prima.

Thanks for stopping by.

Note: I finally got the chance to take better pictures. The sun was shining today! (03/06/17)

My Happy Place - 2Crafty Chipboards

Hi there,

I'm here today to share my second layout for 2Crafty chipboard.

My Happy Place

I was dying to use the Dreamcatchers chipboards since I got them. So this layout was the perfect occasion.

I covered the two dreamcatchers with an old product (Dimensionz, from Shimmerz Paints) which is no longer available. The finish is metallic and dimensional. I love it. The picture doesn't quite get the shine, here.

For my Indian Feathers, I had a hard time deciding on how to alter them. I started by painting them white. I didn't like it. I then painted them the same as the dreamcatchers. It wasn't it. I then embossed dark teal, like the title, but it was way too dark! So I ended up painting over it with distress paint and a bit of white gesso. Even with all those layers of mediums, you can see the grooves in the feathers! I love it.

My title piece, My Happy Place, was embossed with dark teal embossing powder.

Here are the chipboards pieces used:

Dream (2Crafty Chipboard)

Dear crafty friends,

I'm so glad you stopped by today, as I share my first February layout for 2Crafty Chipboard. Here it is.

Dream

I used the Epilogue paper from 7 Dots Studio's Writer's Block collection. I covered it with clear gesso and then, used Chalk inks to add color.

My main chipboard piece is the Wrought Iron. I covered it with a dark blue chalk ink, and then, I dabbed lightly some aqua chalk ink to get this effect.

I treated the one of the 6'' Circle Revolution Frames and the Dream title piece the same way.

I was going with a soft romantic color scheme to go with the picture of my daughter daydreaming in the field...

Amaze Yourself (Words & Paintery)

Hi, dear friends,

Today is reveal day over at Words & Paintery. I would like to share my layout with you. Here it is:

Amaze Yourself

This month, Marie Johansson, the coordonator behind Words & Paintery, came up with a beautiful and bright color combo. For me, it was very challenging because I almost never use three different colors like that. I'm more a king of monochromatic or bi-chromatic kind of scrapbooker...

The word «dance», from the board, inspired me to choose this beautiful picture of my daughter, dancing in the field behind our summer house.

I used the Bicycle Built For Two paper from Prima's Royal Menagerie collection. I toned it down a bit with a thin layer of white gesso.

My stencil is the Grungy Grid stencil (Elementals by Finnabair from Prima). I used it with modeling paste.

The colors I used were Sweet Heart Vibez, Pink Stilettos and Well Blue Me Down Coloringz, as well as Key Lime Shimmerz, all from Shimmerz Paints (of course!).

As far as chipboards goes, I used the Leafy Silhouettes, the Whispy Dandelions and the title Amaze Yourself, from 2Crafty Chipboard. They were all painted with white gesso first and then, painted with mists or Shimmerz, except for the title, which I embossed with aqua embossing powder.

Do you think I went a bit overboard with the thickness on this layout?

It surely won't fit in an album (as if any of my layouts does! lol).

I filmed my process, for you to watch:

I hope you come to play along with us for this challenge. Head over to the blog to see what the ret of the team came up with.

Happy (Shimmerz Paints)

Hi there, crafty friends,

I'd like to share with you today a layout I made for Shimmerz Paints. As tomorrow is Valentine's day, I thought I would take a break from my usual bluish color combo and go for a more romantic color. As my last layout was pink, I thought I'd go with purple. So here is my layout.

Happy

After covering my entire background with clear gesso, I used Salt of the Earth Paste-Eez through a letter stencil. I'm loving this stencil, lately, and with Paste-Eez, I got crisp, sharp edges with no bleeding underneath the stencil I love it!

To add color to that textured background, I used a mix of Royal Purple Shimmerz, Power to the Purple Creameez, Beets Me Inklingz and Razzeldazzelberry Vibez. Look at this beautiful mix of purple I got! Can't get any better than this!

To embellish, I used one piece from the Leafy Shrub Set 1, from 2Crafty Chipboard. To color it, I used Have a Grape Day! Texturez, which I painted directly onto my chioboard. I love the shimmery finish I got, along with the great texture.

In my embellishments clusters, I also added the Fine Leafy Bush chipboard, also from 2Crafty Chipboard, which I painted with 3 Sheets to the Wind AcriTonez. I cut it in smaller pieces and scattered those here and there.

I embossed my Frame Lucy's Flourish with a purple embossing Powder. My title (Happy, from the Word Circles Set 1) was embossed in another purple shade of embossing powder.

Happiness Is This (Shimmerz Paints)

Hi crafty friends,

I'm here today to share a pink scrapbooking layout with you. As Valentine's Day is fast approaching, I thought it was a good idea to break out my pink supplies and get a little fun. Let's take a look at what I've created.

Going through all my pink mediums (believe me, I have a LOT!), I was inspired by the Ruby Spritz. I decided to make it my main color.

To add a little depth to the background, I paired my main color with Caribbean Sunset and Cotton Candy Spritz. They add a softer touch to the layout.

You can see, on the picture above, that I used Salt of the Earth Paste-Eez on my background as well, before I applied the color, just to add a nice texture. I love how the spray ink «pools» around the dried Paste-Eez.

I used 3 Sheets to the Wind AcriTonez with water to make some white drops on the background.

For one finishing touch, I used the Ruby Spritz to color around my word stickers (not shown on video).

All my chipboards (Tahnya's 11'' border and Happiness Is This) are from 2Crafty Chipboard.

Enjoy the process video:

I would like to enter the 7Dots Studio challenge with this layout. The challenge was to make a monochromatic layout.
