Less Perfection, More Authenticity (Prima)

Dear crafty friends,

I feel like I've been neglecting you. It's not that I haven't been creating, it's just that I didn't think of updating my blog! 😦I apologize for that!

Anyway, I'm here today to share with you a layout I created for Prima's self-portrait day.

My friend Marie-Pierre took this picture of me while we were enjoying a girls night out at the beginning of the month and I like it, which is rare for me, so I decided to use it for this assignment.

I dug up in my stash to find papers I liked and flowers. I was looking for something that would mix well with the colors of the picture, especially the blue we see in my hair! (Gosh I love those blue highlights!)

A few flowers, especially the Akrotiri flowers from the Santorini collection (those are my favorite flowers ever!), some Mélange pebbles, some lace...

A funny thing about this layout is that when I was putting down the last embellishments and finishing touches, my 6 year old boy wanted to help. I let him apply the wax on my moulded pieces. He loved the wax and went a bit crazy with it, putting some on my desk, on my chair, over his clothes... Well... I just had to breathe and read again the word sticker I chose as my title for this layout... 😉

I love the end result as there's is everything I like in scrapbooking and my favorite color too!

Cherish (Prima)

Dear crafty friends,

Today, on the Prima Blog, we feature stencils.

I love Finn’s new stencils! The patterns are just so intricate and detailed.

They are perfect for adding subtle texture on the background of any creation.

For this layout, I chose the Tapestry stencil, that I used with Modeling Paste and I brushed Soft Satin Metallique paint over the pattern.

I also used the Wild Berries with a sponge and Adobe House ink, just to add a soft pattern.

I love the end result.

My son chose the collection and the papers for this layout. I think he did pretty good, don't you?

Supplies:

Thanks for looking,
Have a nice crafty day,

A Pink Layout (Prima)

Hello peeps,

It's been a long time since I've updated my blog. My life had been crazy those days, so I'm not as present online. But anyways, here is a layout I made for the pink inspiration on the Prima blog today.

I’m not a huge fan of pink layouts. I often have a lot of difficulties to work with this color. This time, I figured that I could use a dusty pink (in French, we say «vieux rose») and it was enough to spark my creativity.

It inspired me to use this vintage photo of my aunt and her mother. Dusty pink is her favorite color.

I used the beautiful Lavender Frost collection. I love the more neutral backgrounds in that collection. They are the perfect background for about every layout!

Today is a Gift (7 Dots Studio)

Dear crafty friends,

It's November 1st, which means it's time for a new challenge at 7 Dots Studio.

I created this layout for it.

This challenge was so out of my comfort zone! The colors are not what I would normally use, but I thought that they were so beautiful together.

I decided to  mix the Yuletide collection with the Homegrown collection.

I also used a stencil from the Northern Lights collection and stamps from Dreamscapes dans from Garden Party.

I think that the end result is pretty coherent, even though I mixed all those elements from different collections. I really hope you’ll give this moldboard a try.

Flowers and mediums are by Prima Marketing.

Have a great day.
