Today is a Gift (7 Dots Studio)

Dear crafty friends,

It's November 1st, which means it's time for a new challenge at 7 Dots Studio.

I created this layout for it.

This challenge was so out of my comfort zone! The colors are not what I would normally use, but I thought that they were so beautiful together.

I decided to  mix the Yuletide collection with the Homegrown collection.

I also used a stencil from the Northern Lights collection and stamps from Dreamscapes dans from Garden Party.

I think that the end result is pretty coherent, even though I mixed all those elements from different collections. I really hope you’ll give this moldboard a try.

Flowers and mediums are by Prima Marketing.

Have a great day.

A True Love Story (7 Dots Studio) - Process video

Hello crafters,

Karine is here today to share a layout made for 7 Dots Studios and a process video.

When fall arrives here, I tend to go back inside, to drink some hot tea and to read books. That’s the mood I was trying to capture in my layout. I was inspired by Mixed Media & Art's beautiful moodboard

Something warm and book inspired… I went for an older collection, Writer’s Block. I love the prints of this collection. I chose the Note paper for my background. It was perfect for what I had in mind.

I created a mixed media background over which I layered some papers pieces from the Torn paper and lots of embellishments and texture…

I just love how everything turned out.

I have a process video for you to see. I hope you enjoy it.

Mini-Album for the August Challenge (7 Dots Studio)

Dear crafty friends,

Have you seen the new challenge from 7 Dots Studio? The moodboard is so gorgeous!

When I saw the challenge, I immediately thought of the Air Mail collection. The colors and the prints were a perfect match for the board.

I was looking at this collection since it got here and I didn’t know where to start as all the papers are sooooo beautiful! That’s why I decided to make a mini album: I could use all of them in one creation.

I must say that it was time consuming, but in the end, I love the result.

To build the album, I followed a tutorial that you can find on YouTube here and here. I made a quick video for you to see all the pages. I really hope you like it.

Today, a layout for the Color Challenge (Prima Marketing)

Dear crafty friends,

We have a brand new Color Challenge over at Prima. I created a layout for it. Here it is.

It was inspired by those colors:

Prima has so many lines that can be used to fit those gorgeous colors: the brand new Santa Baby line, Havana, Zella Teal, Love Letter, etc. I decided to go with Zella Teal because, you know, I love teal and because I wanted to use the beautiful paper with the roses print.

Since I used the B side of the Offset Dots paper, I dedided to add texture with crackle paste to match those white areas on the paper. Finnabair Texture Paste - White Crackle is just sooooo amazing!

I used lots of embellishments on that layout: flowers, die-cuts, lace, trims, moulded pieces with Paper Clay, Art Stones...

In the end, I created a sort and flowery layout, and I love it.

I really hope you give this Color Challenge a try.

Sweet Moments, a layout with a process video (Prima Marketing)

Dear crafty friends,

Summer is blooming and, where I live, we are having a lot of sun and warm weather. The last week was so hot, I was inspired to use the Havana collection!

I decided to create this layout.

The warm pink and the cool aqua colors were a perfect match to my happy feeling and to the hot summer sun.

I always say I have trouble working with pink while creating, but this layout came together very easily: the collection is so versatile!

I also created a video tutorial for you to enjoy.

Have a nice day,

Karine
