Legoland (Shimmerz Paints)

Je vous présente aujourd'hui une page faite avec un combo couleur qui est assez loin de ma zone de confort. J'ai tendance à travailler le plus souvent avec des couleurs froides, du gris et du blanc. J'ai donc choisi d'aller totalement à l'opposée pour cette page-ci. J'ai été inspirée par les couleurs de la gigantesque girafe qui figure sur la photo prise à l'entrée du Legoland de Boston.

I'm here today to share with you a layout I made with a color scheme that's completely outside of my comfort zone. I tend to work mostly with cold colors, greys and white. I went the opposite way with this one. I was inspired by the color of this gigantic giraffe that stands outside of Legoland near Boston.

Ma première étape a été de choisir un fond: un vieux papier de Fancy Pants (Sunbeam, de la collection Happy Go Lucky). Je l'ai recouvert de gesso transparent. Ensuite, j'ai utilisé le masque Crocodile Layering de Tim Holtz et du modeling paste. L'effet n'est pas sans rappeler les taches sur le pelage de la girafe. Une fois sec, j'ai utilisé deux Spritz: Tuscan Sun (mon préféré) et Treasure Hymn.

My first step was to choose my base: an old Fancy Pants paper (Sunbeam, from the Happy Go Lucky collection). I entirely covered it with clear gesso. I then chose a Tim Holtz Stencil (Crocodile Layering) that reminded me of the dots on the giraffe's body. I applied modelling paste through the stencil. Once dry, I coloured it using Spritz in Tuscan Sun (of course!) and Treasure Hymn.

J'ai choisi deux chipboards de Blue Fern Studios que j'ai recouverts de gesso. Ensuite, je les ai peints avec du Shimmerz: Sunflower, Marigold et Wed Wagon.

I chose two Blue Fern Studio chipboards and covered them with gesso. Once the gesso was dry, I painted them with three Shimmerz colors: Sunflower, Marigold and Wed Wagon.

I did the same with an old giraffe chipboard.

Quelques petites touches de Shimmerz dans les couleurs nommées plus haut ici et là, surtout en Wed Wagon, pour ajouter un peu de couleur à mon fond. Voici quelques gros plans pour vous montrer la couleur et la brillance.

A few touches of Shimmerz here and there, almost in Wed Wagon, to add a bit of red in the background. Here are a few close-ups for you to see the gorgeous color and shine.
